ABOUT THE ARTIST |
Suzie Parvati Reeves was one of Canada’s well known young dress designers and boutique owners in Montreal till 1969. At the pinnacle of success she chose to leave fashion and search for a deeper purpose to life. Suzie decided to go back to studying painting, graduating from Bezalel Academy of Fine Arts in 1973. After her studies she traveled to India to meet the Holy Man Sathya Sai Baba who inspired her to stay .The years from 1976 to 2000 were spent living, studying and painting in the spiritual community of Sai Baba. Suzie’s account describing her experiences on the way and in India has been published in a book titled “ Heaven is This – notes on a spiritual journey “ available on this website.
It was in the holy atmosphere of the Ashram that the first of the series, the Divine Mother Mandala was painted inspired by the Sri Yantra, which has been used for meditation in India since ancient times. This was followed by the other Mandalas each with their own unique beauty and power.
As an accomplished artist with deep spiritual background Suzie is a true instrument in bringing these divinely inspired, sacred images into our dimension as tools to help us connect with our Higher Consciousness.
"Suzie Parvati Reeves has created a wonderful series of 9 mystical MANDALAS. They are each unique in their designs, all filled with sacred geometry and sensitive restful colors and there is one to suit every taste. They each have in common the ability to hold one's mental focus and therefore are very useful as a visual focal point for meditation. Parvati's paintings are truly worth a 1000 words. It's time to get her pictures! "
